CALCUTTA, JULY 13: Striker Dipendu Biswas will lead the 20-member Indian football team to the pre-Olympic soccer tournament in the away match against Thailand at Bangkok on July 17, All India Football Federation president P R Dasmunshi said here today.

Dasmunshi said the team has been picked up after a coaching camp at NIS Eastern Centre at Salt Lake today.

India will play the home match at salt lake stadium on July 24.

Goalkeepers: Prasanta Dora, Kalyan Choubey, Dinesh, Defenders: Falguni Dutta, Lolendra Singh, Dipak Mondal (vice-captain), Mahesh Gawli, Anit Ghosh and Suresh; Midfielders: Hardip Singh Sanga, Renedy Singh, A S Firoz, Noel Wilson, Rocky Barreto and Bijen Singh, Forwards: Alveto D’Cunha, Dipendu Biswas (captain), Surjit Singh, Sheikh Sanjib and James Singh.

Shankar Moitra (treasurer) and Sampath Kumar will accompany the team as coaches while P K Banerjee will be the technical director and former AIFF secretary P P Laxmanan thechef-de-mission.

The Indian team will leave here for Bangkok on July 15.
