Bindra reviews security at PCA stadium

Punjab Cricket Association President I S Bindra took stock of the security arrangements for the second India-England Test match, starting December 19, at the PCA stadium on Sunday.

The Steering Committee of the India and England second Test met at the Stadium and the meeting was attended by representatives of Mohali Police, Chandigarh Police, Fortis Hospital, Telecom Department, Taj Hotel and the PCA Officials.

8220;The committee reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Test match with particular reference to the security arrangements to be made at the Chandigarh airport and route from airport to hotel and to the PCA Stadium, Mohali and at Hotel Taj and the PCA Stadium which will be coordinated by the Chandigarh and Mohali Police,8221; the spokesman said

Bindra said Reg Dickason, Security Advisor of England Cricket and Wales Board ECB will meet the police officials of Chandigarh and Mohali along with PCA Officials at Hotel Taj on December 9 before checking out the PCA Stadium to have a first hand overview of the layout and its security plan.

Meanwhile, all the sub-committees have been advised to put all the arrangements in place for the smooth conduct of the match.

The Steering Committee would meet again after the conclusion of Reg Dickason8217;s visit on December 9, the spokesman said.
