CHANDIGARH, June 7: PGI Club beat CNS XI by 34 runs in the opening match of the third CNS League cricket tournament here at the PGI ground today.

Amit Bhardwaj starred in his team8217;s win with an unbeaten knock of 110.

PGI Club rattled up an imposing total of 210 for 3 in 35 overs. Amit hit eighteen fours and one six in his knock. Raman and Rajinder played supporting knocks of 28 and 27 respectively as none of the CNS XI bowlers could make any impact on the batsmen.

CNS XI managed 176 before being bowled out in 28 overs. Harinder Singh played a valiant knock of 46. Rajiv Dutta claimed three wickets for PGI Club.

DYFI win
DYFI Club beat Ranger Club by 25 runs and Youth Club beat Rock Club by eight wickets in the Uttrakhand Cricket Trophy.

Raman played a hard hitting knock of 75 33 balls to star in Youth Club8217;s win.

Scores: Rock Club: 97 Vijay 3-4, Chand Rana 3-10 lost to Youth Club: 100 for 2 Raman 75 n.o., Bobby 2-6. DYFI: 144 Vikram 27, Vicky 29, Sunil 3-21, Pamma 3-20 beat Ranger Club: 119 Sarabjit 31, Vinod 4-11, Vicky 3-13.

Vinod Binta shines
All round show by Vinod Binta 29 and 3 for 21 helped Godrej Club beat Devi Club by four runs in the ninth Bathany Cricket Cup at the CRPF Ground, Ramdarbar today.

Godrej Club scored 134 in 25 overs. Vaneet Chawla top scored with 39 while Binta and Sandeep Moudgil 24 chipped in with useful scores. In reply Devi Club were in race for win as long as Sanjay Kumar 34 was at the crease and after his wicket the Godrej bowlers, led by Ravi Pal and Binta helped their side to a four run win.

Sagar Sports beat Gymkhana XI by seven wickets in another match. Deepak 47 and Mohinder played big roles in their team8217;s win 40 n.o. and 2 for 20.
