Pre-primary kids of the South Indian Education Society SIES School in Matunga were initiated rather early into travails of urban public transport, with their annual exhibition this year themed around mass transit systems titled 8216;Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi8217;.

The children along with their parents and teachers have organised the exhibition on different modes of transport, with models, charts and informative banners.

The exhibition saw students from lower and upper kindergarten depict various modes of transport in the form of models. The exhibition has models right from man8217;s wonder creation of the wheel to space flights . 8220;There are models of the wheel, elephants carrying logs, and cars on roads, upto space travel,8221; says SIES trustee KA Vishwanathan.

8220;Last year the theme was seasons, before that it was birds and earlier than that it was plant life. This is the fifth exhibition,8221; says Parvathi Ramachandran who is in-charge of the pre-primary section of the school. Around 400 students along with their parents have participated in the exhibition. 8220;Though the parents and teachers have done the major work on making the models, the children learn a lot from it, 8221; says Veena Venugopal, another teacher. 8220;We have also shown the modes of transport used by the army along with cable cars ,8221; says Anamika Chowdhury, an ex-student.
