MACAU, APRIL 18: Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh carded a round of four under 67 on the final day of the Macau Open golf tournament in Macau to finish joint 17th. Jeev was placed joint 45th at the end of the third round.

However, Vivek Bhandari was the best among Indians, finishing joint 12th along with Lui Hung-lin and Tse-Pen of Chinese Taipei with an aggregate of 282 after four rounds. The English star, who will be 26 next Saturday, beat Pitts on the second extra hole having twice rescued himself from rough to wear down his opponent, who fought back courageously to force the shootout.

Both finished the 200,000 Asian PGA Tour event on nine-under par 275, Pitts with a 69 and Westwood with a one-under par 70.

James Kingston of South Africa hit a best of the day 67 to share third place with defending champion Satoshi Oide of Japan 70.

The whole field watched in awe at Westwood8217;s stronger nerve in the finale.

He took his first European event, the 1996 Scandinavian Masters, sudden death and Has won six of his seven playoffs for international titles. His only defeat was in last year8217;s Malaysian Open against fellow Englishman Ed Fryatt.

Pitts, 32, had a stroke of luck to force the playoff when his approach shot to The 18th green hit the flag and stopped a foot away. He tapped in for the birdie to level the scores.
