
The state government is committed to ensure better marketing facilities for the farmers and fruit growers in the state, said Govind Singh Thakur, BJP MLA. He was addressing the agriculture awareness training camp organised by Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee APMC, Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti, at Chounri Bihal, four kilometers from here today. He said Rs 2.03 crore would be spent on the construction of marketing yards, kisan bhawan, grading hall and auction platform in Kullu District. At Chounri Bihal a sum of Rs 1.28 crore would be spent for the construction of auction platform and kisan bhawan, while a grading hall would be built at Patlikuhal at a costof Rs 15 lakh.
Rs 18.9 lakh would be spent on the construction of shops and office at Patlikuhal. A sum of Rs 16.5 lakh would be spent on the construction of office complex at Kullu besides the construction of staff quarters at a cost of Rs 25.50 lakh. Thakur said that the proposed infrastructure would ensure the smooth and expeditious marketing of fruits and vegetables in the Kullu valley.
