Away from home

While insufficient holidays is the main reason behind students cancelling their trips, assignments and class work make another. Nitin Soni from Gondia is too caught up with college work to take a break, but he plans to celebrate Diwali just as he does back home, although without the lively presence of his family members. 8220;I have cleaned up my house here and also arranged for a puja, as we do back home. I will miss the blessings of my elders and their company though,8221; smiles he.

A student of MIT, Pune, Saarthak Dutt is unable to make it to his hometown Lucknow as he has to complete college formalities due to term end. He however has planned a personal way of celebration as he explains, 8220;I plan an eco-friendly and quiet Diwali with my friends. I will miss the festivities that we have at home specially the homemade food and sweets and most of all the large gathering8221;

Anamika Pandey who also hails from Lucknow says, 8221; It is not just about missing home but all the trimmings that go along with, mainly shopping. Crackers and diyas do not really make my Diwali, it is the shopping spree that I will miss the most.8221;
