New Year 2026: Pune Metro to operate all night today, till 6 am tomorrow
On January 1, 2026, Pune Metro will operate trains from 6 am to 11 pm, as usual.
Since the inauguration of the Swargate metro station extension in 2024, Pune Metro has not seen any major updates or inaugurations of new lines. Instead of the usual closing time of 11 pm, the metro will run till 6 am on January 1, 2026, at a frequency of one train per 20 minutes. Both the Aqua Line (Vanaz to Ramwadi) and Purple Line (Swargate to PCMC) will remain operational.
Chandrashekhar Tambavekar, a spokesperson for Pune Metro, said, “To have a safe ride home, we encourage people to use metro services. We are planning to operate one train every 20 minutes, but this frequency may be adjusted according to demand. It will run from 11 pm to 6 am, and regular service will continue after that.”
