MUMBAI, JUNE 14: Harmony, a residential complex located off Aksa Beach, recently won its architect Shakti Parmar an award for the Best Architecture in the Residential Category in an Urban Context8217; from the J K Cement firm. Parmar also won the award for best landscaping from the Indian Institute of Architecture.

The residential complex aims at bringing its occupants in harmony with nature. Built by Vijay Wadhwa, the 42 apartment-building, which was completed almost two years ago, has 70 per cent occupancy. Most of the occupants are the city8217;s elite who wish to take up a weekend home. The complex also has 11 row houses along paved walkways with a mist fountain and a large number of trees. According to Parmar, he only tried to optimise what he termed a splendid location8217;. At a select press briefing he declared that 8220;We are not fishes or birds, we have to be on earth. We have tried to give a little earth to everyone with open spaces and potted plants on every terrace. The apartments too are designed keepingall facilities and people8217;s habits in mind.8221;
