Elvis and Jimmy Carter are cousins!
San fransisco: What do Elvis Presley and former president Jimmy Carter have in common? Genealogists say the answer is a 17th-century German ancestor who might make them sixth cousins once removed.

A San Francisco genealogical web site on Friday reprinted research claiming that Presley and the 39th president of the United States are part of the same family tree. According to the report the immigrant ancestor of Presley8217;s paternal line was Valentine Preslar who immigrated to New York with his wife, Anna Christina Framse, in 1709. The same research shows that Carter also descends from Valentine Preslar the name sometimes is spelled Presslar, Presler, or Bressler and Anna Christiana Framse, through their son Andreas and his wife Anne Antje Wells.

Poisonous8217; Nike
BERLIN: Several German sportswear stores have taken football jerseys made by the US firm Nike off their shelves after allegations that they contain a highly poisonous tin derivative,according to press reports. Other main sportwear brands, including German giant Adidas are now under suspicion they may contain traces of tributyrin, a tin derivative, which can cause hormonal irregularities, the daily Hamburger Abendblatt said in its Friday edition.

Carl Josephine Millennium Kauvaka, was born here 55 minutes before Tuatahi Manaakitunga Edwards in New Zealand 8212; and Tonga, being an hour ahead of New Zealand, was in the new millennium. The claim may draw bitter colonial style fire from New Zealand which on New Year8217;s Eve claimed Tonga and Kiribati had cheated to enter the millennium first.
