The assembly was adjourned on Monday for the day in the wake of the bandh call. Opinion remained divided among Opposition and ruling party members over the issue of adjourning the House. While the principal Opposition party Congress stayed away from the House expressing support to the bandh, Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj, demanded that the House be adjourned. However, CPIM member G V Sriramareddy opposed the adjournment, even as J C Madhuswamy of JDU pressed that the House be adjourned.
