Arjun to meet IIM directors on Feb 1

Ministry officials told The Indian Express that a common approach to different issues concerning the IIMs, including the extent of its foreign operations is likely to be thrashed out at the meeting.

But contrary to media reports, the government is not reconsidering the Singapore branch decision. The government feels the IIMs with large corpus funds must set up campuses in India which could be later developed as independent IIMs with private sector support.

Singh had said yesterday that the government had no money to invest in new IIMs and IITs.
