CALCUTTA, June 2: India8217;s Arjun Singh celebrated his birthday by playing par golf to take lead by three strokes after the first round of the Singapore Junior Amateur Open golf championship being played at the New Course of the Singapore Island Country Club.

Playing superlative golf, Arjun returned a card of 72 and was followed by Pakistan8217;s Vaqas Ahmed and Chang Hong-Wei Chinese Taipei and Lee Liang Allen Singapore with a score of 75 each.

India8217;s junior champion Shiv Kumar was in the fifth position with five over 77 while Sandeep Syal was in the 10th place with a round of 79.
