A resident of Duniyapur village in Pakistan allegedly raped a woman on the orders of the panchayat. The incident echoed the gangrape of another woman in Meerwala not so long ago on similar orders.

Abdur Razzaq Mochi, a cobbler, allegedly had illicit relations with Mohammad Hashem Dharkhan8217;s wife, Jindan Mai. On Tuesday night Hashem caught Razzaq red-handed with his wife when he came back home, sources said.

Hashem and his brother got hold of Razzaq and produced the culprit before the revenue officer of the area, Shah Mohammad. The officer called on the panchayat which in turn ordered Razzaq8217;s wife Nasim Bibi to be raped by Hashem for the crime committed by her husband, the sources added.

Lodhran SP Mohammad Farooq Sajid said he sent a police party to the area and got the members of the panchayat, Shah Mohammad, the two women and their husbands arrested.
