India suffered a 114-6 defeat at the hands of English first division side Coventry in the second match of their first tour of England on Wednesday. India conceded 18 tries, four scored by full-back James Baker, and 11 in the second half.

Full-back Emil Vartazarian scored all the points India scored in the match with two first half penalties.

There was more bad news for the tourists: wing player Ganesh Sawant suffered a suspected fractured collarbone late in the first half after a heavy collision and is expected to miss the final match of the tour, against Leicester at Welford Road on Sunday.

So, too, will flanker Jag Johal, who suffered a knee ligament injury playing for Tabard in a National Three North game last Saturday.

The Indians were beaten 78-3 by a Pershore President8217;s XV in their opening game last Sunday.
