One more Congress leader has extended support to the Samajwadi Party even while remaining a member of his own party. Rajya Sabha Congress MP from Rajasthan, Ubaidullah today openly sided with the SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav.

A month ago, Congress leader Natwar Singh too had criticised the Congress8217;s policies while sharing the dias with SP leaders.

Today, Mulayam while presenting Ubaidullah before mediapersons said all parties had come together with one agenda that of uprooting Mulayam. He said it was a relief that Congress leaders like Natwar Singh and Ubaidullah were coming forward to campaign for the Samajwadi Party.

Ubaidullah said he would be campaigning against his party as it had diverted from its ideology. He blamed the Congress leaders for misguiding Sonia Gandhi and using her as a puppet for their own vested interests.

He in fact challenged

the party to compete

with Mulayam in areas such as development, Hindu-Muslim unity and secularism. He said supporting Mulayam was a must for holding on to secularism in the biggest state.

Meanwhile, Buniyad Hasan Ansari, a former Congress MLA who later joined the BSP has also joined the Samajwadi Party.
