CHANDIGARH, April 16: Local syndics of the Punjab University have reportedly advised the authorities not to announce fresh dates for the postponed exams till it is equipped to conduct the exams.

The decision was taken at meeting of the syndics and the PU vice-chancellor and other university officials on Thursday, sources said. It was added that the meeting was convened to seek the fellows’ advice on the current crisis pertaining to the frequent postponement of exams. It was pointed out at the meeting that for each of the 180 examination centres of the PU, one superintendent, two deputy superintendents, nine assistants and between three to six other personnel are required, which the university cannot muster on its own, a syndic revealed.
