Amend blasphemy law 8212; Pak bishop

NEW DELHI, August 8: Bishop of Islamabad and Lahore Antony T Lobo today demanded drastic amendments in Pakistan8217;s blasphemy law saying it was 8220;very vague8221; and could be grossly misused. 8220;Anyone can be charged anytime under the law,8221; he said at a meeting on The current situation in Pakistan8217; here.

Nearly 60 people have been condemned to death under the law in last 3 years, he said. The bishop claimed, the trial is never fair since courtrooms are packed with fundamentalists who pressurise judges and lawyers.
