Amanpreet shoots gold

Teenager Amanpreet Singh showed nerves of steel in pocketing the 10 m air pistol gold in the fourth Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters shooting meet here Tuesday.

Teenager Amanpreet Singh showed nerves of steel in pocketing the 10 m air pistol gold in the fourth Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters shooting meet here Tuesday.

The Indian Airlines marksman shot 574 at the Punjab Armed Police PAP Shooting Ranges.

His teammate Vivek Singh had the same score but lost in the tie-breaker. Amanpreet won two gold medals at the ISSF Junior International competition at Suhl Germany.

Umesh Chandra of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police ITBP was third with 573.
