NAGPUR, SEPT 7: A meeting of Programme Advisory Committee PAC of All Indian Radio AIR was held here on Monday. The meeting unanimously decided to broadcast programme of audience8217; interest, topics such as current affairs, guidelines for various competitive examinations and sports events in the region.

At the outset, Vimal Dongre, Programme Officer of AIR, gave details about the various programmes to be broadcast in the month of October, November and December next.

The AIR will broadcast more programmes on family welfare, World Food Day, single window scheme of Agriculture Department, an interview with noted musician Prabhakar Khardenavis, human health in the millennium, printing technic in the twenty-first century, noise pollution, an interview with the national volleyball player, Arjunsinh Parhar, and other programmes during the period.

Suggestions of broadcasting various programmes, such as role of women in decentralisation process, position of rural women in respect of socioeconomic situation,challenges before women in the next millennium, personality development of rural youth etc. came from the members of the committee in the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Hemant Karande, Station Director.

During the meeting, Karande informed that Nagpur AIR will broadcast a comprehensive programme on Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Vidyan Parishad to be held here next month.

Members of the committee who participated in the meeting include Victor Fretus, Dr Subhash Khandare, Dr Jail Saaz, Dr Suresh Khonde, Dr N G Mangrulkar, Dr V V Sapre, Neelima Deshmukh and Sudhakar Gaidhane.
