Speaking at a FICCI function, BJP leader L K Advani said he and FICCI were both 80 years old. Advani said he had been advised against talking about his age but could not resist after discovering he and FICCI were both born in 1927. Continuing in the lighter vein, Advani said he hardly knew the art of making money, but FICCI was safe in the hands of Rajiv Chandrashekhar, the president-elect, “given the kind of money he had made in recent times”. Returning the compliment, Chandra-shekhar said he wished FICCI to be as agile at 80 as Advani is.
