Admn forms panel to preserve heritage sites

The committee will look into various issues including preventing encroachments in and around the monuments with the help of the state and district administration and change the land in the name of ASI on priority basis by issuing directions to the concerned departments.

The committee has also been asked to obtain necessary permission from the ASI for any development work within the prohibited and regulated areas of centrally protected monuments and keep away from any conflicting situation.

The centrally protected monuments, Religious Endowment Boards/ Wakf/ Devasthanams, under the control of the state government, will not be included without the consent of the ASI.

Before preparing any master plan in the city, the committee will also consider preserving its heritage and the unprotected monuments.
