PATIALA, May 6: A large number of Badal loyalist leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal today demanded immediate disciplinary action against former SGPC chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra in order to maintain discipline at any cost.

Joginder Singh Punjrath, executive committee member, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee member Bibi Kamlesh Kaur, Jathedar Manmohan Singh Bazaz, member working committee of SAD and Prof Babu Singh Guram in a joint statement have criticised Tohra for flouting party norms openly and not following the party8217;s code of conduct.

They also appealed to SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur to order an inquiry into the alleged misdeeds committed by Tohra during his tenure as the president of SGPC, so that supremacy of SGPC could be maintained.

They alleged that Tohra was trying to invoke the name of Akal Takht to misguide the masses and create a rift in the party rank and file.
