Action against 20 Ganesh mandals

The Pune police have initiated action against 20 Ganesh mandals for using loudspeakers after the 12 am deadline on the main immersion procession routes, deputy commissioner of police Zone I Raghunath Khaire said on Wednesday.

The Pune police have initiated action against 20 Ganesh mandals for using loudspeakers after the 12 am deadline on the main immersion procession routes, deputy commissioner of police Zone I Raghunath Khaire said on Wednesday. Cases had been filed at Vishrambaug police station against these mandals, Khaire said.

8220;Police have noted down the names of Ganesh mandals playing loudspeakers and music systems after the deadline on Laxmi Road and Tilak Road during the immersion procession. We have a list of at least 20 Ganesh mandals. Action has been initiated against the respective presidents and loudspeaker providers,8221; he said.

8220;We have not seized the loud speakers of any mandals because it might have resulted in a quarrel, causing a delay in completing the immersion procession,8221; Khaire added. 8220;There might be cases against Ganesh mandals on other immersion routes in the city. But the information has not been complied yet,8221; he said.
