ABS gen secy shot

August 6: Akhil Bharatiya Sena general secretary Jitendra Dabholkar was allegedly shot at in his residence at Santacruz early this morning. While ABS sources claim that two assailants armed with silencer fitted guns fired through the peephole of his Santacruz house at round 3 am, the assistant commissioner of police Bandra Div, Anil Choubal, on the other hand said there is no evidence to support the claim.

No complaint has been lodged with the local police about the incident so far. 8220;In fact the police were surprised when the report appeared in a local eveninger,8221; ACP Choubal said.

ABS sources told this newspaper that two youths knocked at Dabholkar8217;s residence at Amar Subway Co-op Hsg Society asking him to open the door. They claimed they were policemen who were to escort him to the police station. When Dabholkar refused to open the door, they opened fire through the peephole missing him narrowly. 8220;We have complained to the police on several occasions earlier, but the police have refused to take action,8221; said ABS sources.
