
Leading the growing campaign against infiltrators from across the border, the All Assam Students8217; Union AASU have called upon the people of the state not to engage any Bangladeshi in any kind of household, agricultural or construction activity. 8220;It is a silent invasion and this is the last chance to actually fight them,8221; said AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharyya. Accusing the state and Central Government of 8220;deliberate inaction8221; he added that the problem was growing worse despite the signing of the Assam Accord in 1985 and a Supreme Court directive in July 2005. 8220;The day is not far when a Bangladeshi will become the chief minister8230; we have become a minority in our own land,8221; he said.
