A-1 bowled out for meagre 94

Though openers Shivsunder Das and Nikhil Haldipur began confidently, they could not find the gaps in the tight Sri Lankan fielding much to the disappointment of the crowd of expatriates at the Al Jazira Stadium.

Both fell within six overs they were 18 for three. Rohan Gavaskar then joined Test discard Vinod Kambli in the only worthwhile partnership of 45 runs for the fourth wicket. After the two departed with India8217;s total on 64, defeat looked imminent.
