50 Indian cities to be quot;beautifiedquot;

CHENNAI, January 29: The Union Tourism Ministry is to take steps to quot;beautifyquot; 50 cities across the country, as part of its efforts to promote tourism. While the Centre would provide an amount of Rs 1 lakh, the various State Governments would match the amounts. The quot;bigquot; States would have three cities each, two cities would be selected from quot;medium-sizedquot; States while one city would be developed in each of the quot;smallquot; States.
