48 enter for K100 rally

National level rallying will be back on track, when the Bosch K 1000 Motor Rally kicks off from Yelahanka in Bangalore tomorrow. This is a rally of the MAI, but it will have a fair sprinkling of rallyists from the rival group8212;FMSCI. MAI are the country8217;s official four-wheeler licence holders.

A record 48 entries have been received, according to information received here. Leading the challenge will be former national racing champion Gaurav Singh Gill co-driver Moosa Sherief, now with MRF. He is leading the Indian National Rally Championship with 32 points.

Also back in the saddle is former national champion Vikram Mathias navigator Nikhil Pai. Mathias won the National title with Team MRF before moving to Team JK Tyre for two seasons.

One interesting fact is that Mathias8217;s car is being looked after by former national champion N Leelakrishnan. In second place is Team MRF8217;s Aroor Arjun Rao 17, followed by Arjun Balu 13 and privateer Amrittrajit Ghosh from Bengal 7.
