
Brother, sister crushed by truck
Four people were killed and one person was injured in three separate accidents in the Capital in the last 24 hours.
A 12-year-old boy and his 7-year-old sister were crushed by a truck while they were out cycling in the Kanjhawala area, Outer Delhi, on Wednesday. They died on the spot but their youngest brother, who was also on the cycle, escaped unhurt. The police said the accident was reported around 3.30 pm. 8220;While Sachin 2 was sitting on the front rod, Sapna was sitting on the back carrier. Raja was driving the cycle,8221; a police officer said. Sachin was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, from where he was discharged after first aid. The police have registered a case against the truck driver, who fled the spot. The truck has been impounded.
Elsewhere, a 35-year-old security guard was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle in Nihal Vihar, West Delhi, on Wednesday. The police said the incident was reported around 6 am when Sunil Jha was returning home. 8220;He was rushed to a hospital where he died,8221; the police said. They have registered a case of hit-and-run and are searching for the driver.
A 21-year-old man died when the tempo he was driving turned turtle in Seemapuri area, Northeast Delhi, around 6 am on Wednesday. 8220;When we reached the spot, Bablu Srivastava was found trapped underneath the tempo. He was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,8221; a police officer said.
