The Limkheda police arrested three teenagers and their mothers on charges of rioting and beating up a woman and her son in a scuffle over a kite. The police acted on a complaint filed by one of the gram rakshaks who had stepped in to stop the fight.

Limkheda Sub-Inspector D K Bhoi said the incident occurred at Singhwan near Randhikpur police outpost on Saturday evening.

One of the accused , Shoaib Shaikh 17 caught hold of a kite belonging to one Surya Darji8217;s son, Sunny 16.

He said that when Surya saw her son getting bashed up by Shoaib and his cousins, she and some other men rushed to his rescue. 8220;However, Siraj and Saddam8217;s mothers, Ruqiyyah and Shukra and Shukra8217;s husband Ismail reached the spot and injured one of the gram rakshaks .8221;

Ismail Ghanchee is now absconding.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that parents have been found bickering over a fight involving their children. In July, parents fought over a ball entering a temple premises near Kalol at Kashimabad, which later assumed a communal colour.
