11-yr-old crushed to death

A class VI student was crushed to death by a speeding Tempo in Kalyanpuri of East district on Saturday. Police officials said 11-year-old Abhimanyu was a resident of Khichdipur area and a student in a government school in Kalyanpuri. He was on his way to school on foot. When he was near a DTC bus stop near his school, a speeding tempo hit him from behind.

Abhimanyu sustained severe injuries and fell unconscious after which police were informed around 12.30 pm. He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Victim8217;s father Dinesh Gupta runs an optical shop in Kalyanpuri. He was the youngest in his family and has two brothers. A case of rash and negligent driving has been lodged with Kalyanpuri police station.

Police have arrested the tempo driver, Hari Chand Dubey and impounded the vehicle.
