
MUMBAI, March 12: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority NPPA has further notified and fixed the prices of 104 more formulation packs.The NPPA, this time, has not taken up any cases of imported drugs for consideration. The authority has also not taken them up for review.
Among the cases decided by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority are 4 new cases, 25 cases for price revisions and 75 cases for suo motu approvals.
The ceiling prices have been fixed in respect of 25 formulation packs. Non-ceiling prices for 79 formulation packs have also been revised or fixed.
Amongst the four new cases, the non-ceiling price limits of eldervit injection of Elder Pharma has been fixed at Rs 42.43, tetracox tablets of Themis Chemicals has been fixed at Rs 165.53 per pack of 20, Zucox kit of Lasor Laboratores has been fixed at Rs Rs 8.74 and rimactazide E composite pack of Litika Pharmaceuticals has been fixed at Rs 8.64.
Out of the 25 cases for price revision, 11 items has been considered for fixing themaximum retail price ceiling limit. These include two pyrantel pamoate tablets of Ipca Labs which has been fixed at Rs 6.60 and pyrantel pamoate suspension of the same company which has been fixed at Rs 8.36 per 10 ml.
0The ceiling price of cloroquine phosphate DS tablets of Tata Pharma has been fixed at Rs 9.50. Similarly, two types of erthroyein estolate 100 mg tablet of Alambic Chemicals has been fixed at Rs 16.82 and Rs 16.42 respectively. The ceiling prices of erythromyein estolate tablets of 125 mg, 250 mg and 500 mg has been fixed at Rs 19.22, Rs 37.44 and Rs 74.12 respectively. The maximum ceiling price for erythomyein estolate liquid drops has been fixed at Rs 19.46 per 10 ml bottle and Rs 28.80 per 60 ml bottle.
The prices have been reduced in the case of 67 formulation packs ranging between 1.26 to 70.04 per cent. There has been an increase in respect of 22 formulation packs ranging between 1.06 to 22.24 per cent. In the case of indigenously manufactured packs, the MAPE of 100 per cent has beenallowed while fixing the maximum retail price. The packing material cost has also been updated by NPPA and that has been used in arriving at the prices revised or fixed for the formulation packs.
An effort has also been made to cover a number of formulation packs under the ceiling prices to avoid multiplicity of prices, to the extent possible, which, in turn, shall help in effective monitoring and enforcement of prices.
