As Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves for the BRICS summit in Johannesburg today, all eyes are on a possible meeting between him and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Saying that the schedule is “still evolving”, officials did not rule out a meeting between the two leaders. If it happens, it would be their first scheduled bilateral meeting since the border standoff began in May 2020. Find out more about what’s on the agenda at BRICS summit here

Rajendra Kachroo started an NGO against ragging after he lost his son Aman in 2009 and was part of the UGC’s anti-ragging committee for nearly a decade. In an interaction with The Indian Express, following the suicide of a 17-year-old at Jadavpur University, allegedly due to ragging, he said that such incidents cannot be “brushed under the carpet”.

🚀 Ahead of its scheduled Moon landing on Wednesday, Chandrayaan-3’s lander module established contact with the Chandrayaan-2 lunar orbiter, opening up another line of communication with Earth. ISRO said the orbiter greeted the lander with the message “welcome, buddy”.
