Maharashtra Health Directorate has stepped up its vigil over the passengers coming from abroad at all the international airports in the state along with two sea ports in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai for H1N1 virus cases. As the reports of more confirmed cases of H1N1 virus are reported by the Centre,"we have stepped up the vigilance in Maharashtra. No confirmed cases have been reported till yesterday from this state," Deputy Director of state health directorate Dr U H Gavande said. "We had 16 suspected cases of which 15 have been proved negative and the results of one case,a resident of Jammu and Kashmir,who flew into Mumbai from Jeddah,has been sent to NIV,Pune are awaited," he said. The health officials of the state health directorate said that all precautionary measures were being taken including arrangements in the screening and quarantine facilities. The health officials screened 12,374 passengers on Tuesday,while a total of 4,24,312 passengers have been screened since April this year.
