This gluten and dairy-free recipe is great for dinner, breakfast, and also lunch

Serve with yoghurt or chutney of your choice!

The importance of consuming healthy meals, ideally throughout the day, cannot be stressed enough. But, we also understand the pain of thinking what to prepare each day. As such, to make things easier for you, we bring to you a healthy and colourful version of dosa/chila which tastes absolutely delicious.

The oats beetroot chilla/dosa recipe is by Adhya, a certified nutrition and fitness coach, who took to Instagram and wrote: “This recipe comes in handy when you are looking for a quick and healthy breakfast/ dinner. It works great for lunch as well.”

“It’s gluten and dairy-free. Also, the beautiful colour from the beetroot makes it even more appetising,” she added.

Ingredients

*1 cup rolled oats
*1/2 cup rice flour/chickpea flour
*1 medium beetroot
*2-3 green chillies
*1-inch ginger
*1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera)
*Salt as per taste
*Water as required

Method

*Boil or steam the beetroot. Add the rolled oats to a pan and roast for 2-3 minutes

*Add the roasted oats, rice flour, and jeera and grind the ingredients into a fine powder

*Add the boiled beetroot, green chillies and ginger into a mixer along with little water and grind all the ingredients into a smooth paste

*Now mix both the dry and wet ingredients. Add 1-1.5 cups of water, until it reaches a batter consistency

*Let it rest for 5 minutes

*Now take a pan and spread a small quantity of batter on it to make dosas/chila

Serve with yoghurt or chutney of your choice.
