‘SSC does not have a Twitter account,’ warns PIB, after fake handles appear

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which is responsible for holding several government entrance exams, does not have any official Twitter handle, Press Information Bureau (PIB) has confirmed.

There is a Twitter handle ‘@ssc_official__’ which has been pretending to be the official Twitter handle of the government agency. The handle has been posting information and updates related to government exams. However, PIB has clarified that this Twitter handle does not belong to the Commission.

“A Twitter account @ssc_official__ claims to be the official Twitter handle of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC)…This account is #Fake…SSC does not have a Twitter account…For official information visit SSC’s official website: ssc.nic.in,” the official handle of PIB stated.

PIB also added that the Commission does not have any official Twitter handle, and candidates should visit and consider the official SSC website — ssc.nic.in — as the official source of information for everything related to SSC.

SSC is an organisation under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices.
