SSC CGL 2024 tier-1 result declared, cut-off announced

 SSC CGL 2024 Tier-1 Declared: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on December 5 has released the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2024 tier-1 results. Candidates who appeared for the test can check and download their scorecards at ssc.gov.in.

This time, a total of 1,86,509 candidates have qualified for tier 2 exam. The minimum qualifying marks for SSC CGL tier 1 have been fixed in Tier 1 as 30 per cent for UR, 25 per cent for OBC/ EWS and 20 per cent for all other categories.

The candidates shortlisted in tier 1 will now have to appear for tier-2 exams. This recruitment drive is intended to fill a total of 17,727 positions across Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ categories. The SSC CGL tier 2 exams will be held on January 18, 19 and 20, 2025.

The SSC CGL tier-1 exam consisted of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into four sections – general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English comprehension. Each section consisted of 25 questions worth 50 marks, making the total exam worth 200 marks.

For each correct answer, candidates were provided 2 marks, while 0.5 marks were deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates had 60 minutes to complete the entire exam. The Tier 1 exam was designed to determine whether candidates meet the basic eligibility criteria. The scores obtained in tier 1 will not be included in the final assessment.
