Tension in UP village over clash between two communities

Tension prevailed after two communities indulged in brick batting over installation of an idol

Tension prevailed in Durgapur village in the district after two communities indulged in brick batting over installation of an idol in a disputed area,leading to the arrest of four persons,police said today.

A group belonging to a community tried to install an idol of a goddess at a disputed spot in a village dominated by another community late last night,police said.

Two persons of the other faction called the attention of those attending a gathering nearby and they indulged in brick batting on persons who had installed the idol,leading to tension,they said.

An FIR has been filed against 35 people and two persons each of both the factions have been arrested,police said.

Adequate force has been deployed in the village and its surrounding areas and the situation was under control,they said.
