A tigress translocated recently from the forest area of Corbett Tiger Reserve was released from its enclosure in the Motichur forest area of Rajaji Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand on Saturday.

The big cat was let out in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav.

Calling it a milestone to bring balance in the ecology and economy, Dhami said efforts are being made to make this area a tourism hub.

“Continuous work is being done in the direction of maintaining a balance between ecology and economy and protection of the environment,” he said.
