Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will release 40 agricultural technologies on Tuesday during a function to mark the 96th Foundation Day of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), according to a statement. The ICAR statement said, “To encourage innovations in agriculture, 40 selected technologies will be released and the developer’s efforts will be recognized.” Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh; Ministers of States for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary and Ram Nath Thakur; Union Ministers of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying George Kurian and Professor SP Singh Baghel will also participate in the event. On Monday, a meeting was held between scientists of ICAR and industry representatives. During this occasion, Dr Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education and ICAR Director General, said that the ICAR plans to release 100 varieties of seeds during the first 100 days of the NDA government. He said that these varieties of multiple crops have been developed by the ICAR scientists and will be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
