The Vaishnodevi Shrine Board will hire private security for its various establishments in Jammu and Katra areas.

The Vaishnodevi Shrine Board will hire private security for its various establishments in Jammu and Katra areas.

The board will hire security service firms for providing security cover to establishments of Shrine Board in Jammu,Katra and Banganga areas in Jammu and Kashmir,board officials said.

Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has invited tenders from registered security service companies for providing security cover to the establishments in Katra,Banganga and Jammu areas.

There are over 34 minor and major establishments of Shrine Board located in these areas.

There is multi-tier security of the shrine by CRPF,Police and Army in Trikuta hills. Over one crore pilgrims visit cave shrine annually.

Militants decamp with two rifles from police picket

Srinagar

Militants today decamped with two rifles from a police picket guarding a minority village in Shopian district of south Kashmir,official sources said.

The militants attacked the security picket at Padgucchi village in Shopian district,60 kms from here,this afternoon,and decamped with SLR rifles from the picket,they said.

The picket was being manned by four policemen,who had reportedly gone for Friday prayers,when the militants struck,the sources said.

An alert has been sounded across south Kashmir and a massive manhunt launched to nab the militants,they said adding so far no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident.
