Six killed,40 injured in mishap on Delhi-Dehradun highway

The bus was travelling from Delhi to Rishikesh and most of the passengers were pilgrims going to Haridwar for the ongoing Maha Kumbh.

At least six persons,including three women,were killed and 40 others injured when a truck overturned on a bus packed with Maha Kumbh pilgrims on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway here early on Monday.

The truck,heavily loaded with concrete,fell over the Uttar Pradesh state transport bus near Bhagella village in the district,police said.

The bus was travelling from Delhi to Rishikesh and most of the passengers were pilgrims going to Haridwar for the ongoing Maha Kumbh.

Police said the injured have been rushed to different hospitals. Two of the deceased have been identified as Ramjit Verma and Prem Singh,both from Delhi.
