Militants attack former MLA’s residence

Militants attacked a residence of former Bandipora MLA Usman Majeed in the north Kashmir district by opening fire towards the guard post,officials said on Tuesday.

The ultras fired towards the guard post at Majeed’s Bandipora residence,45 kms from Srinagar,during the intervening night,they said.

They said the security personnel retaliated,forcing the militants to flee from the spot.

No one was hurt in the brief exchange of gunfight,they said.

Majeed and his family were not present inside the house at the time of the attack.
