The opposition today created a furore in the Bihar assembly and trooped into the well raising slogan against the state government after the Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary rejected its adjournment motion seeking a discussion on the law and order situation in the state.
As soon as the zero hour began,RJD MLA Samrat Chaudhary brought an adjournment motion to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar, but the Speaker rejected the motion citing parliamentary tradition and the rules of procedure of the house.
The Leader of Opposition Abdul Bari Siddique pleaded with the Speaker to allow the adjournment motion saying that the matter was of great public importance.
The Speaker insisted that once the adjournment motion had been rejected, the same could not be read out in the house prompting RJD MLAs carrying posters and copies of newspapers to troop into the well of the house and shouted slogan against the state government.
The ruckus created by the opposition members did not go down well with the treasury bench as Water Resources Department Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary decried the behaviour of the opposition members and said that if at all they wanted to discuss law and order situation they should have brought a motion under prescribed rules of the house.
There were several options under which the opposition could raise the issue in the house,he said.
During zero hour too,RJD members raised the alleged fake enrollment scam in the government schools and disrupted the proceedings briefly before walking out of the house after expressing dissatisfaction with the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying that no such scam had taken place in admission of students in government schools.
There was only a mismatch in the number of enrollment and attendance of the students which was being rectified,he said.
