Four narcotic smugglers arrested in Jammu

Acting on a tip-off,police arrested the two narcotic smugglers in Doda district.

Four narcotic smugglers were arrested and some contraband was recovered from their possession in two separate incidents in Jammu division,police said on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off,police arrested the two narcotic smugglers at Seri Gaon in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district on Friday,they said.

One kilogram of heroin,valued at Rs 1 crore in the international market was recovered from them,they said.

The smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Mushtaq and Aijaz Ahmed of Bhaderwah area,and a case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the duo.

In the second incident,police arrested two narcotic smugglers and recovered 26 grams of smack from their possession during checks at Udhampur railway station on Friday evening,they said.

The smugglers have been identified as Vikram Singh and Anil Dubey and a case under NDPS Act has been registered against the duo.
