DRDO develops drug to improve soldiers’ performance

The trial of the drug was conducted in various high altitude areas,particularly in Ladakh region.

The DRDO has developed a herbal drug to improve physical and mental performance of security personnel working in high altitude where oxygen concentration is low.

“The Defence Research Development Organisation has formulated ‘Perfomax’,a composite herbal drug found to improve the physical and mental performance of security personnel working in high altitude and hypoxic conditions,” Defence PRO (Jammu) S N Acharya said here today.

The formulation is rich in antioxidants and other bioactive compounds that improve performance of brain,heart,kidney and lungs and improves blood circulation,he said.

The trial of the drug was conducted in various high altitude areas,particularly in Ladakh region,Acharya said.

Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju had launched ‘Perfomax’ last week in Leh district,he said.
