Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday backed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations of large-scale irregularities in the Haryana Assembly elections, saying the Election Commission's credibility now stands completely exposed.

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday shared details of what he called the “H files”, alleging that last year’s Haryana elections were “stolen”. He alleged that while the Congress lost the elections by 22,779 votes, 25 lakh votes were “stolen” in the polls.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday accused the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP-led union government to "strangle" the very democratic system it is meant to safeguard, citing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegations about 25 lakh fake entries in the Haryana poll list.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday supported Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's allegations of large-scale voter fraud and his accusation that the Election Commission (EC) “helped the BJP capture states through vote theft”.
Thackeray said the issue raised by Gandhi was not about party politics but the “value of every Indian's vote”.
“Once again, Rahul Gandhi has exposed the Election Commission's fraud that helps the BJP capture states via vote theft. The world is watching how our elections are no longer free and fair anymore… with proof,” Thackeray said in a post on X. — PTI
"What were the polling agents of INC doing in the polling stations? They are supposed to object if the elector has already voted or if the polling agents doubt the identity of the elector," the official said.
Referring to EC's efforts to clean up the voters' list across states, officials wondered whether Gandhi is supporting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) which removes duplicate, dead and shifted voters along with verification of citizenship.

In response to Rahul Gandhi's press conference, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the LoP addressed the press to hide his failures. "There will be polling in Bihar (tomorrow), however, he was sharing stories about Haryana. This shows that the Congress has nothing left in Bihar and this is why to deviate attention he is raking up Haryana issue. I would advise him that being Leader of Opposition, he should talk on serious issues and not waste time over irrelevant issues," he added.

Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of misleading voters over the ‘House number 0’ issue, claiming many fake entries exist in voter lists. He alleged the CEC’s explanation about homeless voters was false and shared examples from Haryana to back his charge.

In August, Gandhi, citing data from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, had claimed that over one lakh votes were "stolen" through manipulation in Mahadevapura assembly segment in Karnataka. The BJP won 48 seats in the 2024 assembly polls. The Congress, which was predicted to win by many exit polls, won 37 seats. The LoP claimed that a massive 3.5 lakh people were deleted before the Vidhan Sabha elections. He also said that there is a rule that if more than 10 people live in a house then ground verification needs to be done. He questioned, if it was done. He also called the Haryana elections a theft.
The Leader of Opposition questioned CEC Gyanesh Kumar's claim that house number 0 is given to homeless people. Rahul Gandhi countered the claim saying that the reason for house number 0 is that voters can't be tracked. He accused the CEC of lying to the people of India. He also said that this method makes voter verification difficult.
He added that there was one such house with 501 voters but when checked, no one was living there.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that thousands of voters are registered in both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He said, the same man who is a BJP sarpanch in UP has votes in UP and Haryana. There are thousands who are voting in UP and Haryana and have association with BJP.
Rahul Gandhi accuses the EC of destroying CCTV footage from polling booths. He said that blurring names and photos are a common method of duplication. He also pointed out that the ECI can remove duplicates in a second but they aren't doing it to help the BJP.
LoP points towards a woman who has appeared 223 times in the Haryana voters list with the same photo. He says that there are thousands of such examples.
