‘Reflects our pride’: Haryana officially adopts ‘Jai Jai Jai’ as state song

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini described the song as one that inspires the spirit of the 2.80 crore people of Haryana.

On the concluding day of its budget session, the Haryana Assembly on Friday officially adopted Jai Jai Jai Haryana, Jai Jai Jai Haryana as its state song. The proposal, presented by a committee set up for the purpose, was passed unanimously through a voice vote in the House.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his gratitude to all dignitaries who contributed to the creation of the song, describing it as one that inspires the spirit of the 2.80 crore people of the state. “Just as there are established rules and norms for the national anthem, similar guidelines should be set for the state song as well,” he suggested.

The proposal for the state song was first introduced by former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar and it was accepted by all members of the House. The song was previously played in the Assembly during which the members offered their suggestions.

“These suggestions were incorporated, and the revised version of the state song was presented again today. Although Haryana became a separate state in 1966, it did not have an official state song until now. A state song reflects the pride of the state…,” Saini said.

State Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij said the song showcases the language, culture and brotherhood of Haryana. “I proposed that a copy of this state song be provided to every Assembly member so they can memorise it, learn it thoroughly and understand it. Just like the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ is sung and remembered by heart, this song should also be sung with the same spirit,” he added.
