Paints made using cow dung get govt lab nod

Khadi Prakritik paints, which use cow dung as a “significant” ingredient, have been certified for their quality and eco-friendly attributes by the National Test House (NTH), the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry’s Department of Consumer Affairs said, “Khadi Prakritik paints are devoid of heavy metals…”The paints also “mark the significant utilisation of cow dung as a raw material, contributing to environmental cleanliness ”, the statement said.

It also said the paints had undergone “rigorous testing and validation” at NTH.
